Visit Seychelles

The one thing that amuses the quite a lot is the assumptions made about Seychelles and the odd questions that I get asked. The most funniest I find is that when speaking about Seychelles and people realising that it is a tropical island that they assume that Seychelles is in the Caribbean although I know there is nothing wrong being part of the Caribbean knowing where Seychelles is, to me it is amusing as they are in on the opposite sides of the world. The other amusing thing I find is the blank look on peoples faces when I say to them that Seychelles is in the Indian Ocean, from that point on I have to draw a imaginary map in the air with my finger sometimes people then get it once Mauritius is mentioned others just don’t get it really. The other question that I was asked was does Seychelles have electricity???? Moments like these deserve condescending reply’s so I replied that they didn’t and that all people that the live in Seychelles live in huts and they make fire by rubbing 2 sticks together, the person in question looked very worried as they were going off to Seychelles for a holiday and they are the type of person that just love there creature comforts. I did reassure them though that it wasn’t true but I was tempted for a nanosecond to live them with that thought, evil I know. One other question that I was asked was how did Seychelles get their electricity, and to be honest I didn’t really know the answer to that so I told them that there was a big electricity pylon from the Madagascar that goes all from to Seychelles then asked how because if the boats sailed across they would get hit so I then said it was like a oil line that goes under the sea hahahahaaa they were very disappointed when I told them that I actually didn’t really know. It is kind of funny where assumptions are made but at least you can always have fun with the responses.
